  4. I am really excited about the first 2 chapters talking about embedded PD and research based facilitation of new ideas. I am wondering about teachers trying new strategies and how to help them be successful with trying something new. My idea of formative assessment might be a bit outdated (exit tickets, etc) and more frequent feedback to students is important- just not sure how to get there.

  6. I wonder about structuring and timing the necessary PD components for formative assessment to really take hold with my staff. Time is always an issue, so I'm hopeful that this will provide some good tools for being able to include this everywhere.

  8. How can we use the content of this resource in my support of other building leaders...especially when this is key need and a strategy with a very high effect size?

  9. I've already used some quotes from the book to start some conversation/discussion with my building. Looking for some more inspiration to utilize for future professional development opportunities.

    1. We did as well. We focused primarily on Chapter 2 and worked on quotes around, choice, flexibility, small steps, accountability and support. It was a great launching place for the Formative Sssessment tools we were provided by the District.

  10. There are so many excellent research-based best practices that are shared by Wiliam and Leahy. How can we best set up time with grade level or department PLCs so they can explore these practices, commit to using some of them, debrief and get input from their their PLCs - working to continually improve practice?
