Summary of Learning Meeting 2:

How  will you use the templates found on pp. 101-102 and 135-137 in your buildings?

  1. I really like the learning log on page 102. I think the question stems elicit great feedback to the teacher. However, it may be too much to try to assess all at one time. I would think that focusing on one or two stems might help the teacher decide next steps.

  2. I think they are great resources. I really want my staff to develop a deeper understanding of the four attributes of the formative assessment process before I start talking about specific strategies. I also want my staff to familiarize themselves with the 5 strategies of formative assessment that Dylan William outlines in his book, so that they can align those with the 4 attributes. After my Supplemental Day on the 17th, my staff wanted to know more about "Eliciting Evidence" and "Acting on Evidence". I'm in the process of finding more resources on the Digital Library that they can access.

  3. I would like to provide the student feedback handout to teachers to promote two way communication about teaching and learning.

  4. For those teachers who currently give students feedback slips at the end of class, I would like to discuss this version and collaborate on how the two forms differ and how they might tweak their forms to get higher quality feedback from students.
